Austin City Limits Music Festival, which turns 10 this year, is expected to generate $73 million in local economic impact, according to Angelou Economics.

C3 Presents, ACL’s organizer, reports that 53 percent of the festival’s 70,000 daily attendees come from outside of Austin, spending millions of dollars on hotel rooms and food alone.

“2011 has been an exciting year for Austin music, with landmark anniversaries including the city’s 20th year as the Live Music Capital of the World and the 10th year of the ACL Festival,” says Jennifer Walker, director of marketing communications for the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The sold-out festival, which takes place Sept. 16-18, will features 120 bands on eight stages. This year’s lineup includes Kanye West, Coldplay, Stevie Wonder and Arcade Fire.
