During a recent 🙋🏻‍♂️ @MenOfGodATX outing, we spent time around the 🎱 pool table.

I’ll be honest, pool was never a game I truly understood. But a brother in Christ took the time to patiently mentor me, explain the angles, the positioning, the purpose behind each shot… and it completely changed how I saw the game.

That same night, the Lord began stirring something in my heart.

As I reflected on what I was learning, God showed me how much the game of pool mirrors our walk through life, the seasons we’re in, the pressure we feel, the storms we face, and the importance of staying positioned, focused, and surrendered to Him.

Out of prayer, reflection, and a little help with technology, The Pool Table Perspective was born.

Imagine your life right now like a game of pool. Not rushed. Not finished. Still in play

God hasn’t walked away from the table. He’s still standing right there with you.

The Table – The Season You’re In

This season you are in is not outside of God’s care. Nothing here surprised Him.

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.” – Psalm 37:23

The Cue Ball – You

God isn’t asking you to fix the whole table. He’s asking you to stay positioned.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6

The Cue Stick – God’s Hand

God often works by shaping you first so everything else can shift in time.

“For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:13

Chalk – Grace

Grace keeps your heart steady and prevents slipping into bitterness.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

The Break Shot

Sometimes God allows disruption not to destroy, but to expose and realign.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Calling The Shot - Prayer & Surrender

Prayer aligns your heart with God’s will, not control.

“Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours, be done.” – Luke 22:42"

The 8 Ball – Restoration

Restoration is God’s shot. Stay faithful until He says, “Now.”

“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6"

This game isn’t over. Stay at the table. God hasn’t missed His shot.

Whether you’ve played pool your whole life, barely know the rules, or have never picked up a cue stick, my prayer is this, that this perspective points you to the freedom we already have in Christ, reminds believers of their identity and authority in Him, and invites those who don’t yet know Jesus to take a closer look at who He truly is.

God hasn’t walked away from the table.

The game isn’t over.

And in Christ, restoration is always possible.
