Christian Wedding Vendor Meetup ATX
Misty and I had such a blast hosting today’s Christian Wedding Vendor Meetup at Lamppost Coffee in Georgetown, Texas. ☕️
We want to thank everyone who came out, shared, listened, encouraged, and made space for real conversation. We also want to give a special thank you to Alyson with Mockingbird Lane Events for putting this awesome meetup together for Christian wedding vendors. We missed everyone who couldn’t make it today, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. If you honor God through your life and business in the wedding industry, we'd love for you to join us!
Currently, we are reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. Today we discussed the chapter, “Hint: The Solution Isn’t More Time.”
Such a timely reminder for us as wedding vendors, business owners, creatives, spouses, parents, and followers of Jesus.
A few takeaways from today’s conversation:
❶ We all have the same 24 hours
The answer is not always more time. Sometimes the answer is learning what God has actually called us to say yes to.
❷ We are finite, not infinite
We have limited time, limited energy, limited emotional capacity, and different seasons of life. Accepting our limits is not weakness, it is wisdom.
❸ Saying no can honor God
Not every opportunity is an assignment. Not every client request, extra task, or business idea needs our yes.
❹ Busyness can cost us what matters most
We do not want to build successful businesses while neglecting our marriages, families, spiritual health, or walk with the Lord.
❺ Rest is not wasted time
Being still before God is not laziness. It is where we remember who we are, who He is, and what actually matters.
❻ Comparison steals joy
There will always be someone more gifted, more experienced, or further along. Instead of letting that create envy or insecurity, we can celebrate others, learn from them, and thank God for our own growth.
❼ Stewardship requires boundaries
As vendors, we serve people during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. But serving well also means protecting our peace, our families, our Sabbath rhythms, and our time with God.
Our prayer is that we would not just build businesses that look successful on the outside, but lives and businesses that are deeply rooted in Christ.
Lord, teach us to slow down, accept our limitations, steward our gifts well, and walk at the pace of Jesus. 🙏
We’re so grateful for this community. 😍
