⚠️ Another Jesus? Another Gospel? A Biblical Warning

 

One of the most sobering realities in Scripture is that not everyone who talks about Jesus is talking about the Jesus of the Bible.

Jesus Himself warned:

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” — Matthew 7:21

Notice that these people called Him Lord. They prophesied, cast out demons, and performed miracles in His name. Yet Jesus said:

“I never knew you; depart from Me.” — Matthew 7:23

The issue wasn’t that they had never heard of Jesus. The issue was that they knew about Him, but did not truly know Him.

Paul gives another warning:

“If someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed… you put up with it readily enough.” — 2 Corinthians 11:4

And again:

“If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” — Galatians 1:9

What is “Another Jesus”?

Another Jesus is:

• A Jesus who never calls for repentance.
• A Jesus who exists only to fulfill our dreams.
• A Jesus who approves of whatever we want.
• A Jesus who saves without transforming.
• A Jesus created by culture, tradition, or personal preference rather than Scripture.

What is “Another Gospel”?

Another gospel says:

• Jesus + good works = salvation.
• Jesus + religious performance = salvation.
• Jesus + law keeping = salvation.
• Jesus + denomination = salvation.
• Jesus + anything = salvation.

The true Gospel says:

We are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Test

Don’t ask:

❌ “Do they talk about Jesus?”

Ask:

✅ Which Jesus?

Don’t ask:

❌ “Do they quote the Bible?”

Ask:

✅ Are they teaching the Gospel found in the Bible?

Because a counterfeit is only dangerous when it looks close to the real thing.

The Good News

The true Jesus:

• Is fully God and fully man.
• Died for our sins.
• Rose from the dead.
• Calls us to repentance and faith.
• Gives us His Spirit.
• Transforms us from the inside out.
• Is the only way to the Father.

Let’s be people who know Him, not merely know about Him. 🙏❤️
